Let There Be Light
Ki. is a next generation Internet of Things (IoT) platform to manage streelights and provide feedback on faults and sensor data.
As part of the team at Parallax, I worked to convert the initial proof of concept UI to a fully featured Vue app integrated into the existing Laravel backend. This also involved updating all of the build tooling and enabling features like code splitting to improve the end user experience and the development workflow.
Converting an existing proof of concept was tricky, but was done gradually in place over several months. Separate build tools were setup and both versions of the site existed and had to function correctly until the new UI was complete.
Everything was designed with scale in mind. The dashboard has been in place for several years now with tens of thousands of street lights hooked up and more constantly being added using the provisioning mobile app I worked on as part of another project for Lucy Zodion.
